Citrus Orchard Sourcing & Harvest Planning

This portfolio project represents Uniterra International’s orchard-level sourcing and harvest planning for citrus fruits intended for export markets.

The project began with orchard selection based on fruit quality, tree health, yield consistency, and cultivation practices. Only orchards producing uniform, well-colored, and mature citrus fruit were approved for harvesting. Crop monitoring ensured fruits were picked at optimal ripeness to balance sweetness, acidity, and shelf life.

Harvest planning was coordinated to align with export schedules and market demand. Controlled harvesting reduced field damage and ensured fruit integrity from the first stage of the supply chain. Proper handling at orchard level minimized bruising and internal stress, which is critical for long-distance transport.

By starting quality control directly at the orchard, Uniterra International reduced downstream losses and improved overall export outcomes. This source-level involvement allowed better planning for sorting, grading, and packing operations later in the chain.

This project highlights our belief that export quality is established in the field, not at the warehouse. Strong orchard partnerships and disciplined harvest practices form the foundation of reliable fresh fruit exports and long-term trade success.
